you're reading this thread inside the project this thread is about.
tree.gg is:
- a personal site — i wanted somewhere that felt like me rather than another framework template. why-a-bbs is the long version of that decision.
- a digital garden — see digital-gardens for what that means in practice.
- a handmade BBS — vanilla html, css, and js. no react, no tailwind, no static site generator. a small bun build script glues the markdown notes to the BBS chrome.
things that are intentionally not here yet:
- a working door game (
GG_TREE— coming) - a sound layer (modem handshake, key clicks, NO CARRIER)
- a curated set of evergreen notes (right now most of these are seedlings; that's the right stage for a one-day-old garden)
things that probably never will be:
- comments
- search
- analytics beyond what cloudflare gives me for free
- a contact form
if you find an easter egg, you found an easter egg.
